Marakai mastershef

The Mara Kai Masterchef competition is when you  and your group cook a meal for Mrs McCormick and Mrs Aperahama. For your dish you need to use five school  grown  ingredients or home grown ingredients, and your groups dish needs to be vegetarian or it will not count.

We made a kasadia and orange  juice because it is easy to make, we used five school grown ingredients in it and it was realy exiting making the dish.

The ingredients I brang for the drink were oranges and lemons that I pocked off my tree at home , we also used home grown food as well.

I enjoyed working together as a team, I enjoyed  having fun with my team and learing new things.

I would change nonthing because it all went to plan.

I recomend doing this because it is so fun and you can learn new things so I think you must try the Mara Kai Masterchef copatishon.

Wate of space

We have been learning about space. I used the colours blue, black, and white to make my planet. We have been learning how to infer which means reading between the lines.

For the activity we had to make a balloon rocket with a group it was really confusing but in the end we finally did it. We learnt this because we wanted to learn something different about space.

What do you know about space?

Bungee jumping

I have been learning about how to analyse evidence and read between the lines of the text. We have been reading about and watching a small video called jump, which is about jumping off the sky tower. We read a story on bungee jumping and we realised the boy was really scared and didn’t want to jump after saying to his friends that he wanted to.We also watched a video on a boy jumping off the sky tower and we had to complete a text about his emotions and how he was feeling before and after his jump, we added emojis to support the text.

Would you want to jump off the sky tower?

Plants and garsens

We have been learning about plants and  gardens and what sorts of plants & vegetables can grow in the  winter months . We have been summarising and getting information. From different texts and youtube clips about the best ways to grow vegetables  and what conditions the plants need to grow and that’s just what these students at Cannons Creek School in PoriruaI created a canva poster about what plants or vegetables can grow in winter. For my background I used shades of red, pink, and yellow that brightened the poster up. I also did an activity on my drive. It was called gardening in the living room. I Summarised parts of the story and recorded page-by-page information. What plants do you think grow in winter?

I am learning about Matariki because next month is Matariki month.

I made stars in my classroom because we needed some Matariki stars to decorate with pastels. We then hung the stars on top of the waka on the wall.

I read a Book about school students learning about Matariki and I anserd some Qusestions about the story and added to my Matariki slide. I found some photos on the internet that link to the story I enjoyed finding the photos mount Taranaki is beautiful with it snow on top.

How are you going to celebrate Matariki?

samoa week

This week we have been learning about samoan language week.
For my reading group we have been learning how to infer so we can read between the lines. For the activity we had to draw some samoan art and we had to talk in samoan.
I enjoyed making the art and looking at the patterns because it’s interesting.
I found it challenging to talk in samoan because it’s not my language.
I would change next time my art because I would want to do something different.
What did you like about my art?
